Anchorage School District Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator. Acting Director of Career & Technical Education (1999-2011)
As the Anchorage School District Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator and Acting Director, I was deeply interest in education issues. Cathy Giessel is a strong supporter of education that WORKS. Students that connect education with their future career choices are more likely to stay in school, graduate, go to college and get a legacy job in a lasting career. Getting students ready to be community contributors rather than community users is Cathy Giessel's highest education priority. She is a candidate that supports better education not bigger more expensive education. Cathy knows that Alaskans want their children to succeed as productive contributors to themselves, their families and their communities. In her initial term in Juneau, Cathy co-sponsored and passed the first major state legislative investments in Career and Vocational Education in twenty years. She makes things happen and gets work done. Cathy Giessel is honest, forward thinking, inspirational and competent. I am working for Cathy Giessel for Senator.

I also support Cathy because she is the best listener I have ever known and very good about remembering what she heard and acting upon her knowledge guided by her wonderful compassion and judgment. She has become very well versed--in a short time--on state finances and policy issues. In short, she is one of the best new candidates in the state. Having her in the legislature will be like having a sister you admire, respect and trust representing you.
